I didn't know where to ask this question, so I put it here.
Has anyone ever heard of a boat named with a number? I'm thinking about using my badge number as the name for my next boat. What do you think about that?

FWIW I always think about calling out on Ch 16 in distress ... I think the USCG might respond better to boats with names like "Perserverance, Megabyte, Miss Teak, Hannah Katherine ... rather than OU812 or 8675309 and similar ...

You ??

My badge number is "One Six Four" which is my call sign at work. I'm so used to using it on the radio I thought it'd be different. I still kind of like the idea.

Tony:

That's short enough and has enough 'easy to say' ring to it that I think it could work! Go for it :) !

Tony,

Good choice for a name; meaningful to you, family and friends and a little unusual too.

Just to be clear, I would recommend spelling it out just as in your post above instead of "123" for example.

Good Luck,
