Unfortunalty, its almost time to put my 2520 xl to sleep. I had a 2 stroke johnson on my previous boat and winterized that engine myself.

What steps should I take to winterize an F250? And anything else that I should do for the 2520 xl

thanks

This is what I do to my F250.

- Change motor oil and oil filter.
- Change lower unit oil.
- Fog motor.
- Replace spark plugs (after fogging oil is burned off in Spring).
- Replace motor mounted fuel filter.
- Clean/replace VST filter & replace VST gasket.
- Remove prop & washers. Grease shaft. Check for fishing line.
- Grease all zerk fittings with waterproof grease.
- Replace water impeller (if necessary).
- Grease steering ram.
- Apply die-electric grease to any electrical fittings.
- Spray down motor with T-9.
- Check for loose wiring.
- Check for corrosion.
- Check condition of timing belt.
- Check anodes (replace is necessary).
- Check fuel lines for any leaks.
- Check water lines for any leaks.
- Check tilt & trim for any leaks or wear.

And this is what I do (or try to do) to my Parker.

- Stabilize fuel.
- Spray CRC-656 or T9 on all wire terminals & switches.
- Run anti-freeze through washdown & livewell pumps.
- Check steering fluid level.
- Check anodes.
- Remove anchor/line.
- Remove and store batteries. Clean & grease terminals.
- Remove cushions, gear, equipment, etc.
- Remove drain plug. Drain bilge.
- Replace Racor filter (in Spring).
- Wax hull.
- Polish all SS.
- Cover boat with tarp.

Good luck.
