There is not a low or hi gear, just a gear reduction in bottom of powerhead...and another gear reduction in foot. No particular reliability problem, but they do fail from time to time.

This is a power robbing gear reduction. Another result of this rig is a bill for four to six thousand dollars when it fails !

The 25 sorry ride may have been due to the IO power. Could be, the flat bottom certainly had something to do with it. I have not rode in a 25DV. I have, however rode on several "overwide" cc's. It is amazing how extra beam kills boat ride.
