3 X 17 X 16 Suzuki prop. I've tested a 4 blade and my boat didn't like it.
U mean 3x16x17 okay so a 15 wasn't as efficient plus they don't offer a 15in pitch with a 16 diameter prop. Would u have gave the 15pitch a try if they offered it?

The new motors is on its way for salmon this weekend. I didn't know what to do with myself since this is the last piece of the puzzle. So I have been diving the whole time.

Test drive / fishing

Still need the kicker put on and second station controls. Going to try a four blade prop this weekend. I'll get more shots of the engine and helm gauge

How did the 250 perform so far, and what prop did you settle on?
Also did you get the I command controls, or the I conn?

I have a 2520xl with bracket, and my yami 225 just blew up.....the oil pressure was just high enough not to trigger the oil alarm, and the rest is history. I need to repower now.....Looking at E-Tec, but am seeing higher prices than the 17k that you got.

Well the 250 performed very well in terms of getting the boat up and out on plan. Cruising at 27mph in 6ft swells with windchop. Top out speed inside the bay was 35mph with the current moving against me. In terms of fuel I haven't got a read as we where doing testing on the prop and trying to achieve the correct rpm. We where using a 3x14 3/4x 17p prop. If I go back to the 3 blade it will probably be a 15 1/2 x 17p. I will be trying a 4 blade this weekend. Comparable to the old 225 yamaha two stroke this motor has more power and out of the hole shot. It's very impressive. I will feel you in this more over the weekend with some more accurate information. I have the new icon gauge. This is a bad ace motor and quieter then the old etec engines

I'm pulling the trigger on an E-Tec 300 with Iconn controls. I just have to pick a prop........
Let us know how that 4 blade works out....I'm going to contact Ken at Prop Gods for a recommendation of where to start, but thinking maybe a 4 blade

I just dropped my boat off for the E-Tec 300 install. Can you post or send me pictures of your oil tank installation?

FYI - I contacted Ken at Propgods and he recommended:

Revolution 4 17 pitch.
Or a Powertech OFS4 17 pitch.

He said the Powertech gives more sternlift, the Rev 4 would be a little quicker on top end.

will do. I had some work come up this weekend and didn't get a chance to make it down to the boat. I will be there Thursday. I'll take some pictures of the oil tank placement and gauges. One bit of info I didn't mention is the motor was getting 0.2 to 0.3 gph on the troll. I run about 2.0- 2.2 and feather very Nicely.

By all means BUY a 4-blade PowerTech prop! One day I carried 1/2-tank fuel, 2-guys, bait and ice and ran X-speed and Y-mpg cruising in the stretch. The next day, 1-hour later (so same tidal stage) I ran in the same spot and had added back in 20-gallons fuel so I had ~the same fuel load ... but had 10 people aboard ... and she ran only 1-mph and 0.2-mpg less than the day before!

4-blade props are AWESOME for push and carrying a load on big single-screw hulls!

First weekend out

Haha, that picture with the crib aboard should be in the next Parker catalog! NICE pictures!

That's awesome!

Just what the 2530 is good at. Family and fishing.

I wish mine were still that small. We have outgrown our 2530, yours will serve you great for many years to come.

Pictures of the kicker install and the tie bar. Very satisfied with the work. Power from/tilt and electric start. With the rpm + or- toggle. Looks like it's going to be a good trolling engine can't wait. Your thoughts?
