Well we had a huge setback. Mechanic opened up my outdrive... let's just say if he poured the contents of the outdrive into the bay..... there may have almost been a sheen.... poor thing has been running on saltwater for a while. The unit was basically worthless. Props to Volvo and their duoprop for holding up so well with such a major issue.

New outdrive on order. Boat in the shed at the mechanic. Engine going in soon!

ANOTHER EXPENSIVE SETBACK!
I purchased a reman outdrive on a friends advice. Turns out the guy I was put into contact with (Stephen Higgins) owner at Power Boat Limited is a damn con artist. I paid 6,000 dollars for a drive to that was supposed to ship in 2 days. That was 3 weeks ago. I called and disputed the charge on my credit card today. After doing some internet research it's obvious the guy is a loser ass thief. I can't stand a liar or a thief!!!! Oh well. Crappy outdrive will be machined and rebuilt by the local shop under my supervision. Hope to be running by the end of the month.

Is anyone even looking at this thread anymore?

Capt, I'm checking it out as new replies come up. I see your from Panama City, I live in Lynn Haven. You need to get that tank up and running, so I aint one of the only Parker at shell Island.

That's funny I live in Lynn haven as well! Corner of Maine ave and highway 390. You can usually see the boat under a big green tarp over my fence lol.

Paul's marine is getting the outdrive today and will start work asap.

That is funny, I drive by there everyday to pick up the kids from school, I've seen your boat there, I'm off of Baldwin.

Well we finally got the new outdrive installed a long with the engine. We haven't been able to sea trial yet due to all the open hull penetrations. My wife and I stripped the boat of all her hardware Sunday and I dropped it off with the painter Monday before heading back to work.

She will be getting an awlgrip paint job. Seafoam hull with Snow White top sides.

I've also decided to do away with the factory opening front windows and am going to install fixed 1/4" glass. Wynn wants way to much for a new set. Mine are shot.

Enjoy the pics. I'll try to post more soon.

Can't wait to get back home and finally finish this project!

Bonus pic of my wife and I on a catamaran in new providence island. The stbd hull had a serious issue on the quarter. I was concerned she would take on water...... then they offered us rum punch.... it was a fun little anniversary trip.

Congrats on 36 years! We have been together 12 years and married for 5. She's the center of my universe for sure!

The boat is a 1995. I purchased it from a fellow in destin Florida. Man has it been a journey!

curious. Is the fiberglass still good before painting? it could save a lot of money. Many on the list have older hulls and with regular effort and best products and equipment make it pop. m2cw

Unfortunately I had to remove the entire deck and the previous owner drilled over 100 holes for unnecessary fasteners. By time I patched and faired the holes the cost is the same to just paint the entire boat. Not to mention any and all stress fractures will be repaired and I'll be left with what appears to be a brand new boat.

Can anyone tell me what size hatch this is? With all my nautical wisdom I let mine get away from me during the rebuild and need to order some new ones in white. I know the cut out is 11-1/2" tall by 13-1/2" wide. Any help would be greatly appreciated! ( don't need the big stupid scoop thing. Just a regular hatch )

Progress pics! Hull is now green. Popping some holes on the topsides. He plans to shoot that within the next week or so.
