    2120 150TXRC prop?

Thanks so much for the info you've provided, DSW. I was also kicking around that what I'm getting might just be the best I can do at 150hp. Throttle flattens out since I just don't have the umph to turn this fully loaded prop any faster. But wasn't sure if I was just overthinking it. I might...

    2120 150TXRC prop?

After sleeping on this one a bit more, I seem to have circled back to the carbs.....again. Despite last season when I had them apart, they looked clean and had no gunk or visible varnishing. Just the same, I shot cleaner through all the ports and blew everything out with compressed air as I had...

    2120 150TXRC prop?

Thanks. I figured rpm should improve, but it's not clear yet if it would also return some or all of the throttle response where today I'm getting nothing (3/4 up to full throttle stop). I've run it this long like it is and so far none of the usual maintenance and various repairs that have been...

    2120 150TXRC prop?

Looking to find out what prop folks might be using with similar hull / engine. Curious what WOT RPM you may be reaching. For a while now (years), my WOT max RPM has been running a pretty consistent 4800 rpm. The last inch or so of throttle produce no increase in RPM. Adjusting trim angle...

    2120 privacy curtain hangers?

Thanks. That's what they seem to be called, either curtain carrier or drape carrier. Found similar in window curtain and hardware section of a couple camping / RV sites. The round head of the stub that fits into the track measures .2". Found carriers .25" wide listed that instead have an eye...

    2120 privacy curtain hangers?

Anyone know what those little plastic hangers that are sewn into the privacy curtain are called? Mine have broken and haven't got a clue as to what I'm looking for. I'm guessing I can probably find something close at one of the sites serving RV stuff if I have an idea of what they're called. But...

Intermittent engine issue - stalls at idle, low WOT rpm

'04 Yam 150 carb 2 stroke OK. Launched boat back in mid-June. Ran good for 2 short trips. 3rd trip, got into the bay on plane for just a few minutes and RPM suddenly dropped from 4500 to a labored 2200-2400 RPM. Limped back to the dock but in neutral RPM drops and engine stalls. Engine would...

    Mixing 2S oil

Thinking of switching from Yamalube 2M to Pennzoil ('04 carb 150). Any issues with adding the Pennzoil to the Yamalube still in the tank? Thanks

    Pilot screw turns out?

Yamaha kits are on the way. For future reference, got a reply from Andy. 1 turn out, plus/minus 1/4 turn.

    Pilot screw turns out?

Tried that a few days ago (1 can Seafoam + 1 gal of gas). Idles a little better and seem to have gotten 100 rpm back (WOT), but still not where it should be. Thanks

    Pilot screw turns out?

That was going to be my next stop since I'll be ordering kits for the carbs. Plan is to just tweak the adjustments for now and deal with however it shakes out, and then do rebuild in the off season as long as the boat keeps running well enough for the remainder of this season. But I'll have...

    Pilot screw turns out?

Does anyone have the pilot screw turns out spec for 2004 2 stroke 150TXRC? My Yamaha service manual has the other carb spec's, but for some reason doesn't have that line. Seloc manual has 3/4 to 1-1/4 turns, which sounds like it may be about right but need to verify. Carbs were rebuilt 2...

    Bad rubber in rigging grommet?

Thanks, but 2 stroke w/ carbs (old technology). So fuel layout is a bit different than FI models. Googled the topic in general, and seems to be something that can happen with carbs. Not only a Yamaha issue. Simple work around may be to just tilt motor up with grommet at upper most level...

    Bad rubber in rigging grommet?

Spoke to my mechanic today (still waiting for him to pickup and service). He said it's not unheard of for Yamahas to leak fuel from the carburetor when the engine is tilted up, and he's seen it before. It's not usually much, but it can drip onto the grommet and "everything turns to mush". Once...

    Bad rubber in rigging grommet?

Was thinking about cleaners but I don't use bleach or harsh chemicals for mass cleaning. Just for spots as needed in a spray bottle. Generally just scrub the non-skid with Barkeepers. Problem is the damage is within the flexible rigging tube at the transom, and definitely within the channels...
