Nice job. But why didn't you use a composite Instead of ply to avoid future rotting. Then no problem with your hatches causing rot either.

Looking forward to the finished result. I must admit I would like the finish to be smooth but am not sure how that could be achieved. Maybe grind down to the glass then fair and prime with hi build primer. But then would have to paint it I guess

just wondering why carpet is so predominant in boats rather than foam backed marine vinyl. I hardly see cars with carpet all over the doors and ceiling. Surely smooth vinyl would be easier to maintain/clean

Am thinking of removing mine and having them powdercoated white.

I was told the interior vinyl (1/8") was also slippy when wet can you confirm if this is the case. The outdoor stuff is not slippy when wet

I thought the indoor stuff is the 1/8 thick vinyl and the outdoor is the plank type stuff that imitates wood ?

When you say just gelcoat, what is the non stick part. Do you add some sand to gelcoat or?

What non skid did you use

Is that the outdoor stuff or the indoor stuff.

What do you think of the anchor deck hatch re. Build quality and water tightness.

Are you using snaps or just the rubber backing on this carpets
