    Questions For Robert Cibran

I would be interested in a get together...just got back from Marathon ( Key Colony ) a couple of weeks ago and the fishing was great 3 out of 4 days at the Humps..

    No reason to Upgrade.....

    Thanks...that's what I thought...I definitely will not have 2 foot-itis(sp) anytime soon.

    No reason to Upgrade.....

No reason to upgrade...according to the marina, I have a 32ft boat. Just received a rate increase from the marina citing they will be charging for overall length instead of the stated 2520XL on my pilothouse. This is standard procedure in this area but ouch...that hurts with really no...

How did your boat get its name????

My wife is a huge Rolling Stones fan and I love to Grouper fish....since I own a pilothouse boat and Grouper seek shelter when hooked, I decided to merge the two. I asked my brother to draw a grouper with Mick Jagger's lips and tongue... Gimme Shelter...

    Gasparilla Fatty

Yes...it is a Grouper...most species you catch in the West Central Gulf are Grouper-Black & Red, AJ's, some Trigger Fish, King & Spanish Macks, Tuna to name a few.... The area is fished so much that catching a Grouper this size only 30 miles off shore is a treat...the added bonus was the fish...

    Gasparilla Fatty

Instead of joining all the crazies down at Gasparilla this past Saturday I decided to go fishing..Marine forecast called for 2ft seas but they were easy 3-4 ft early in the morning heading out. My destination was about 40 miles out; however, sea conditions dictated pulling up about 10 miles...

Procedure for Weighing a Stuck Anchor

Thanks for the replies....I have rigged a smaller danforth anchor like described and it did work...I should have mentioned that I have a delta anchor (2520 Parker) that I'm sure could be rigged the same way; however, I was uncertain on the strength of the ties along the shank... My smaller...

Procedure for Weighing a Stuck Anchor

Interesting that there's not a lot of info on a google search for this topic.. I went fishing yesterday all over the Gulf of Mexico and caught one keeper Grouper..to add "insult to injury" my anchor got stuck at the last spot. We tried running the boat in the opposite direction ( stressing the...

    Marina made a boo boo.

Anthony: I had the same thing happen to my cowling this summer except mine happened when the marina was launching my boat ( I posted here on the forum ). It was an accident and the marina replaced the cowling...while it was not a 06 cowling it was as "good as new shape" and i am satisfied. Not...

Cost of Yamaha F225 100 service?

Thanks guys.... I should definetly study the manual. The 100 hr maintenance certainly seems simple enough. I'm now re-thinking this service and may attempt myself. I appreciate the feedback and help.

Cost of Yamaha F225 100 service?

B-Faithful...thanks for the links. I did a search on THT before posting here but didn't find a match for some reason. Fish Factory.. I agree on the service thing but I'm concerned with voiding the warranty and I'm not confident in my abilty to perform this service. I know I should learn to save...

Cost of Yamaha F225 100 service?

I will call a couple of dealers on Monday; however, just curious what people are paying for this service. I was quoted $500-$600 today by a marina that I can get to by water versus taking the boat down from dry dock and trailering. It's more convenient but is the price "in the ballpark". Thanks...

    Livewell stopped working

Question for the experts...I went out this weekend with the livewell working at the dock. At some point it stopped working. The pump is the same as the raw water washdown and that works fine. I'm assuming that debris probably got lodged in the hose leading to the livewell. I had 2 families on...

Too much boat ... not enough water ...

Great photos Dale...my grandfather was a commercial fisherman in Morehead City, NC "back in the day". I was told that this was standard procedure for cleaning and painting the hull. I will admit though, I've never seen anybody actually do it....

    Marina Damaged Engine Cowling

Thanks guys..I've calmed down. The 250 cowling did not fit according to the marina; however, they temporarily placed a slightly damaged 225 cowling on so I could use the boat last Sunday. They are sourcing another cowling so I will give them an opportunity to make it right. I appreciate all...

    Marina Damaged Engine Cowling

I keep my boat in a high & dry....last weekend I arrived at my boat to find the Yamaha f225 engine cowling badly damaged. The manager explained that a wave pushed the boat back into the fork lift when they were launching the boat. Definitely an accident and I was furious but held my composure...
