Wall and ceiling carpet inside Parker

Do you recall what you used for an adhesive? I got my 2520 and the overhead carpet in the PH was already gone so no template. Contacted a couple of shops and all were leery as they thought the heat of a closed cabin would cause the glue to fail. Would like to get something up there for looks and...

    maxwell RC6 windlass on 2520

I have an opportunity for a decent deal on a NIB RC6 windlass to put on my 1995 2520MV but want to make sure it will work. Is anyone currently using this unit? Results? Will the below deck components fit and still allow space for rode etc. (I do have pulpit and roller fwiw) I have read that this...

    Filet table

Very nice treatment. Could you put together a rough list of parts you used to build it? Thanks!

    Used Optimax evaluation

The positive comments pretty much mirror my experience with the engine as well. Plenty of power on the MV regardless of loading and the fuel usage was very good under normal cruising conditions- generally from @8-9.5gph depending on tabs etc. It did make some noise shifting but in 50 years...

    Used Optimax evaluation

I am updating the power on my 95 2520MV with a low hour Verado 250. I had bought a used Optimax 225 a few years ago and was badly misinformed concerning the hours on the engine (not by the seller but the dealer who had serviced it previously). I'd had recurring intermittent problems with the...

2520mv with yam. 150 hp, acceptable for a slowpoke?

Yes. I bought a '95 2520 MV which was powered with a '94 Yamaha 150 (TXT?) with a pie plate for a prop ( I don't remember the specs but may still have it around somewhere). The PO had a hell of a time selling the boat due to the motor and I beat him down mercilessly as well. The boat ran okay...

    RI 2820 Seen

Seem to recall that some of you guys like pictures, so here you go. New boat to the neighborhood this year. Owner claims 64mph WOT (did not mention fuel burn at that speed 8) Only issue I can see is that the blue hull is going to make it hard to slide in my 2520 and hope they don't notice...

    End of season

Did the same thing Monday based on our weather report. Happened to have received a new zoom from Woot over the weekend so had it on hand for some shots. Here is the winter crew settled in for the season Some last bits of color hanging on (the leaves don't seem to want to come down this year)...

    Bulkhead Mounted Step

Saw a fb molded step on an XL and really liked it. A cooler would be most of the height of the gunwale and often in the way behind the pilothouse. A mounted step seems like it would be a handy option for going forward as the rocket launcher gives a good handhold at that point as well.

    Bulkhead Mounted Step

I've searched the board but have not found anything on this topic yet-wondered if anyone else had tried it yet. I have a 1995 2520 which I keep on a mooring. On a typical day I might go forward 1/2 dozen times or more between coming/going, anchoring and fishing. While the gunwale is not as tall...

    Trim Tab System cost??

Went with the 24x9 based on earlier recommendations and they are more than adequate. Good price with the rocker switch here http://greatlakesskipper.com/bennett-24 ... ch-control It is a pretty doable DIY project as noted earlier.

... dang faster than most Parkers!!

Got to see some of the old gals yesterday on the first day of the 12m North Americans off Newport-they still look pretty good to my eye. Got to watch the AC45s race in Newport last summer and they are pretty entertaining Saw the big ones on TV and the idea of closing speeds in excess of...

WHO are these guys patrolling our harbors?

Would make more sense for the boats to be assault rather than defensive with the paint schemes, lack of markings and apparent low radar profile configurations. Definitely looked more than a bit out of place entering Newport Harbor on a perfect summer afternoon. Looking at the picture again it...

WHO are these guys patrolling our harbors?

Also, not apparent in the picture, but the surfaces on the lower boat are reminiscent of the 117 and likely designed to provide a minimal radar profile. Very funky looking boat and there were at least the 3 we saw in Newport last week.

WHO are these guys patrolling our harbors?

Saw the bottom boat , or very similar, with two other similarly mysterious boat entering Newport Harbor last Thur (8/15) around 2:00PM. Very ominous looking but we couldn't figure out the origins as there were no visible markings but also no apparent uniforms on the visible passengers-gym...

    Bracket or notched??????

As a follow-up to my comments about pulling the 2520 even a very short way with a Tacoma- my 1995 2520MVSC was on the travel lift today to power wash the bottom and it registered over 7800# with full fuel/225 Opti/gear/cooler/deck chairs etc etc. No wonder my Tundra feels like it is at it's...
