150 Yamaha on an 1801

We are sea testing an 1801, brand new with a 115 Yamaha and it has failed. Miserably.

Now they are putting a 150 hp and trim tabs on. we do a sea trial next week.

We were looking at this boat for inshore (Tampa Bay, Florida flats) and offshore but the draft seems to be 14 inches.....I am afraid (disappointed) this may not be the boat for us.

Does anyone have an 1801 with a 150? What is your draft?

I don't think my 2320 with the 4 stroke 225 drafts that much...

Are you counting the motor foot? Boat draft is usually stated as hull only. Maybe you're looking at the wrong boat as Parker makes a 21 bay boat and a kick-butt, hard core 23 bay boat.

I'm not too sure there is a shallow draft Florida flats boat made that is also a good offshore boat. :? Although I do know several people looking for such an animal.
