2008 - 2320 Repower

Starting to think about replacing the F250 on my 2320 with a new motor, would be staying with Yamaha for various reasons.

Been seeing a lot of older 2320's being repowered with F300's of various brands. Can someone tell me if this is affecting getting insurance if the boat is rated for a 250hp motor?

I do understand the new 300's weigh less than the older 250's but I have had a dealer tell me I couldn't put a new 300 on my boat.

Appreciate any insight others may have?

I would like to buy a trailer, replace fuel tank and front windows, repaint bracket and repower all at the same time. I have 94 2330 with 2002 F225. Which runs fine but would like it to jump. The capacity plate states 300 hp and looking at Suzuki .
