I have a 21' Sou'wester center console and the access into the console is terrible. I need to climb in through the hatch that is on the aft face of the console, just above the deck. It is hard to get into and is preventing me from building a livewell/ leaning post as I would never be able to get in after it was installed.
Has anyone modified their console access to create side or forward access? I am thinking that I will either modify the current console or just build one that is a little narrower, has from access, and bump outs on the side for rod holders.
Looking for any ideas so I can start planning this winter's project.
