I’m ready to purchase some outriggers for my 2120 SC but can’t find much information online. Out here on the west coast there aren’t many boats with outriggers let alone Parker’s. Outriggers are a bit over kill for chasing albacore but still would like to get a nice spread going. We always talk about going to San Diego to chase more pelagic’s but hard to get away from the work and family. Any how, looking for advise on some experience with installation. Most of my research shows hardtops should get the mounts that have the handles below but doesn’t seems great to have them inside? It seems like the overhang on the rear side of the cabin might work but is it a head banger. I went Albacore fishing 4 times last year so not going to get used all that much. Would it be better to have the top mount control?

Thanks for anyone whom is willing to share to share some advice!

I wish I could give you a solid answer in terms of what style is best for your application or fishing in general, but I put a set of lee jrs on my 2120 and really like the look and accessibility of them. I have a set of marsh tacky poles that are 15’ and they fit the scale of the boat nicely but the tips of the poles don’t align with the stern when deployed, they come up about 2’ short of it. I don’t think that will be an issue, but have read that ideally they should align with the stern.

In terms of aesthetics and a solid mounting position I think they are the best option for the 2120, but others with more experience here may differ.

Thank you for the response. I have a couple of questions around the mounting location. Did you mount them on the roof? Do you have any pics? My Parker is a 2007 so not sure if that makes a different. I think mine qualifies for the older and stronger roof from some of the posts. It seems better not to drill the large holes for the control to be below the roof. I’m not big on drilling holes anywhere on my boat. Last year I mounted a battlewagon mount with radar/spotlight combo. It turned out great complete with toggle in the helm area to control the light. I did a ton of research first but the outriggers just don’t have a lot of info out there. I don’t want to damage my roof with adding outriggers. Maybe the wishbones are better but then I read hard to get around the bow fighting a fish which I had to do only with salmon and thresher shark when I wasn’t trolling, never with albacore on any of my dozen trips or so.

If you place them correctly the Gemlux short handle Bluewater bases work perfect. Haven't hit a head yet. The cabin on a 2520 is a little bigger than the 2120; however, they should work.

Check out my post (Rehabbing my 1988 Pilothouse). I just posted some pictures of how I mounted my Taco Grandslam outrigger bases on my roof. They came out and very solid.
No handles inside to bang your head on and totally out of your way if you have to go up to the bow. And not crazy expensive. May be able to get used on eBay.

The nice thing about lee jrs side mount is that the sides of the pilothouse are not wood cored so you don’t need to worry about seals leaking and rotting the core.

As for fishing, I’ve never had fish take me up to the bow as long as I’m putting pressure on them and have someone else on board able to maneuver the boat if needed. It would be awkward to get over the outriggers when deployed when fighting a fish but I just don’t see that happening.

Here are some pics of them in place.
