May be pulling the trigger soon on a 23 se and will upgraded the electronics and install a thru hull ducer, if I go forward.

The bilge are seemed to have a "shelf" above the actual bottom. Atleast that's what my memory is telling me.

Would like to see a photo of someone's 23 se with a thru hull ducer.

Thanks...

There is a bit if a shelf. I guess if you wanted to place to ducer farther forward you could cut it some??? Don't think you need to though as there is enough open space to put one? See pic of a 23 hull from my plant tour last year. I think the shelf holds the battery's on the 2320? See what the 2320 owners say? Hope this helps.

I have a 2001 23SE and the shelf is used to hold the oil tank for my 2-stroke. I'm guessing the shelf is still there for the oil tank even though the boats are coming out of the factory with 4-strokes.

I'll try to get a pic this weekend if you still need it.

Here are the pics. I would think there is room for a thru hull ducer behind the shelf and on the port side.

This is where I cut the shelf away to install the B256LH. Now I have a hatch that is 4 times as big as the factory hatch to make it easy access.
In your case and installing a B164 size tilted element X-ducer I'd cut thru the shelf with a 6in holesaw. Then it would get the 3 3/4in hole thru the hull in the middle of that.

Love that hatch Bobby.
I want to put one of them in mine someday.

Thanks dudes!

I drove the boat today and should have it in the driveway in a week... Lien on the title, etc. once it's clean and titled to me I will order the Airmar B60.... Had that on my last boat and liked it.

I will definitely cut that shelf and then drill thru the hull... Thanks again for the assistance with this newbie
