Hey guys Im getting ready to buy a 2320 sprots cabin and need to know, should I try to get it with the 225 thats on it or upgrade to a 250? Is it worth to upgrade, how does the 225 push the boat? whats the best cruising speed vs the 250? please help if you can, thanks scotty mac

I have a 2007 2320 with the 250. Easy cruise in the mid 20's MPH, and top speed of 42 MPH in dead calm conditions.
No idea about performance with a 225 on it, but I am sure someone will chime in.

Go with the 250. Much better motor. I have a 200 :( on mine. It does the job, but wish i went the 250 route. The dealer is gonna try to sell whats rigged from the factory and tell you there is not much differance. I now know better as i learned my lesson. Take it from me and i am sure others will chime in with the same advice. But whatever you decide I'am sure you will enjoy that boat. If $$ is not a big problem get the 250 good luck, enjoy!!

I have a 2006 2320 with the 225 on a bracket.

I get identical performance numbers as these. Usually run with fill tank of fuel and gear. FWIW

I get 2.5 - 2.8 mpg at 25 mph

I have heard the debate about the 225 not making the power that its claimed to. I have twin 225s no problem with power. I would maybe tell the dealer that you really wanted it with the 250 but if he makes it worth your while youd stick with what he has on the lot. both engines are fine. You would never really notice a difference.

WHATS UP | I GOT A 2008 2320 SPORTS CABIN WITH A 225 HP TOP POWER 40 MPH IN CALM SEAS NOT MUCH COMPARED TO A 250 HP.
DON'T KNOW THE PRICE OF EITHER BUT SURE THER IS.

I run an 05 2320 with a 225 and 9.9 kicker. Always keep her tanks full, with 3 guys, 250 quarts of ice, full bait well, lots of fishing gear, 6 man life raft (100#) and other stuff, I get about 2.2 - 2.4 MPG at 26 - 28 MPH turning about 4400-4600 in calm conditions. I am running a rev 4. When conditions kick up in the northern gulf (2-4 short wave chop), I plow the bow into the seas and pull about 1.8-2.0 at 4200 and 20 - 22 mph. She can be a little slow out of the hole when heavy and the only time I wish I had more HP is running in a ripping inlet with following seas. In those conditions I can sometimes fall off plane climbing the back side of a monster roller when I am heavy. Love the engine, other then a bad fuel pump (probably ethanol and fixed under warranty) and a bad water pump last year. I now have the 9.9 kicker for the piece of mind since I fish 40 miles out normally.

'02 2320 with an F225. Runs fine. Tops around 40, but never run there. Mid 20's cruise at ~2nmpg. Bury the bow if it's nasty and get ~1.7-1.8, it can fall off plane if it's too bad.

Usually run full with three guys, gear, 40 gallon bait tank, 60-100#'s of ice, and always the tower.

If there is an advantage to the F250, I would hope it would be mid range in nasty conditions. Can't tell you that.

Now the new V-6 F300, that might be interesting.........mine is rate for 300 HP. Only problem is the F225 will probably last another 5,000 hours or so.
