2520 XL MV fuel tank depth

The sending unit on the gas tank on my 2520 XL MV has quit working and I am wanting to replace. Does anyone know the depth of the tank (176 gals)? I not want to take the current SU out until I have the new one ready to go in. Don't want to take a chance on it not re-sealing and it leaking while waiting to replace it.

It depends on the manufacturer. My 2019 2520XLD tank is 179 usable and it is 16 5/8" deep and was manufactured by Florida Marine Tanks. It came with a 13" probe which I changed out for a 16" probe. Now when the last bar is flashing it will get quiet very quickly.

Always...The safest way is to mark the orientation of the sender to the tank.....Remove the sender and stick a tape measure in the tank.
Nothing more frustrating than to get ready to do the job......and have the wrong parts.
