2520 XL vs 2520 XLD

I have noticed a few NEW boats lately, sitting on dealer lots that are definitely deep V hulls, but the emblem on the side of the pilot house clearly just says "2520". Wondering if they may be slowly phasing out the 16 degree hulls? Obviously just speculating, but I thought this was an interesting observation...It wasn't too long ago you either saw 2520 XL or 2520 XLD ...
