I have a 2001 Parke 2300 CC DV that need to have the 155G tank replaced. I know this is a big job and will require cutting the deck out. I plan to take this to someone that specializes in this. However, we have about 8 weeks of cobia season left here and I will miss a significant amount of that for this tank replacement. Anyone ran an above deck tank to temporarily. I’m just curious if this would even be an option and would it be safe. I have a Suzuki DF200. Thank in advance.

I've used multiple 12 and 18 gallon portable plastic tanks to extend the range of a 25 Bertram twin I/O I used to have. I'd burn the portable tanks and store them in the open cabin when empty then switch to the main tanks on overnight Gulfstream trips out of southeastern North Carolina. I made a fuel manifold with outboard fittings and valves to plumb into the I/O fuel system.

I've installed a 150gal size in a Intrepid. https://fuelsafe.com/marine-fuel-bladders/

They are not cheap! I plumbed it all with AN fittings and had a quick detach coupler on it. This was to give them further range.
If you don't mind, could you tell me what type of quick connect fitting / coupler you used. I have been thinking about doing the same but I have not come across any fittings / couplers that I trust not to starve my 2 stroke at near full throttle. I was wanting to add a quick connect of some sort to my Racor filter housing in the unused inlet port for a portable tank that could be used on offshore trips or left home when not needed. IF I ever need to replace my factory tank I am planning on adding another small tank forward of the original but I really don't want to cut the boat up just for that. Any ideas or suggestions are appreciated!

This is the No Drip......No Leak fitting As you can see.... It is not inexpensive. Aircraft grade.

I mounted this fitting under the washboard to go thru the rear panel and get to the Racor.

The fitting above was tied to it and a Aircraft grade fuel hose hooked to that. That hose is very supple.

This was the hose. https://www.summitracing.com/parts/sum-240010b

In my case on the other side of the bulkhead it went into this fitting to split and go to 2 Racors, as the boat had twin engines.

This fitting was used to split it. https://www.summitracing.com/parts/mrf-mp7600-01

Thanks alot, I do appreciate it. Looks like a good solution! I have already purchased a pair of really nice stainless 1/4" NPT full flow ball valves that I was planning on putting on my Racor so I could choose whether to draw from my main tank or the portable. I was hoping to find a quick disconnect of some type in 1/4" NPT that could screw directly into my ball valve. If I can find that same type fitting in 1/4" NPT that would be perfect! The search is on! Thanks again kind sir. EDIT: I found some adapter fittings, this just might work for me! And you are correct, they are not cheap but then again what is for our boats. Sure cheaper than a blown powerhead from running lean though. Lol.Thanks again Warthog!

There are different size AN couplers. You would go from AN Female [whatever size to 1/4 Male NPT on a separate fitting to adapt the two together.
