It is time to upgrade the fishfinder on the old girl so I can do some wreck fishing and perhaps some deep dropping along the 100 fathom curve.
I'm probably going with the furuno FCV 585 bottom machine and one of the airmar tilted element thru-hull transducers. Seems like a good unit.
question is which one - the 600 watt or the 1000? While most of my fishing is trolling in 20-50 fathoms I do wander over the hundred from time to time looking for something with a beak. I'd also like to be able to get a good look down where the tilefish go.
Would appreciate feedback from those who have already gone through this decision making process.
