alternative to Starboard???

I have some left over Corian from a counter top and was thinking about using it to make toe rails, cup holders, etc. Has anyone used Corian for marine use and is there any draw backs??? Should make good cutting boards as well.

No drawbacks that I know of... and thanks for the idea!
I have some 'leftover' Corian that might get used now.
