Best Deal On Marine Wiring

Well, I finally got to do the wiring on my ProFish 700 Windlass. Thanks to all the encouragement and help from the posts on CP, I got it all together over the weekend. I went locally to buy the wiring and West Marine wanted over $4/ foot for 4AWG. I found a site http://genuinedealz.com/ that was almost 1/3 the price! And Mike at genuinedealz even added the lugs and heat shrink wrap that I needed, at a nominal charge. I promised him that I would pass along my good experience with all those here on CP. I will get some pics of my project and post them as soon as I can. For now though, Stripers are in so it will have to wait!!!

I just compared prices for 4 things I need, checking that site versus Best Boat Wire and BBW beat them for pricing on all 4 items, but not by much. That other source I posted separately is still the lowest price for adhesive-lined heatshrink.

Where I see the best benefit for this source is when you need to buy odd lengths of wire heavier than 10 AWG.

You are right in saying that the prices were pretty close. But the fact that genuinedealz.com did the connections was a real big help in my project. I don't think that BBW has that option. It is realy difficult to put those lugs on 4AWG wire without a ratchet type crimper which is something I didn't have in my toolbox. And he did it at a nominal fee, 99cents per connector plus shrinkwrap (not including the connector of course) I provided the type connector and the opeining size and the wire came all ready to install. The wire shipped the same day by the way and he only charges postage not handling. All in all both sites are great for our projects!

FWIW, today when I went to BBW for kicks & grins, knowing they went out of business, it turns out Genuine Dealz has bought them out ... or at least their URL to link to.

I did find that GD's stock items are limited though . For example, BBW sold "bilge pump wire", as 3-wires in a bundle (16awg) w/ a brown, black, and brown w/ white striped lead in the bundle. GD doesn't stock it.

BBW also use to stock adhesive-lines heatshrink in 1/8" and 3/16" sizes, which is incredibly useful for GPS, instrument, and NMEA wiring ... GD's product line begins @ 1/4" size.

Oh well ... another useless lunch break spent surfing ...

This is where I got my wiring kit for installing my windlass. Comes complete with everything electrically you will need for the install. I put it on my 2520 and had wire left over.. Great deal for 89.95$..Instructions included

Sb...West Marine carries this but I don't know how good a deal..

The GD's heatshrink crimp connectors are adhesive lined, they just don't say so. I've got 4 boxes of terminals sitting next to my desk, and I just made up a bunch of battery wires for our survey equipment using them. There's glue in the heatshrink, I can see it on every crimp.

GD's pricing is better than any other place I've ever seen.

10 from GD is $4.70, 100 would be 47.00 with free shipping.

And Dale, if you need some sizes of glue-lined heatshrink, you can get that from Skycraft for pretty cheap. Skycraft also has BIG stuff, like 3" that shrinks down to 3/4".

I usually buy their pre-cut assortment, which has 20 1/8" tube, 4" pieces.
Its $19 for 160 pieces, which is tough to beat. Plus, they are pre-cut and come in a nice organized box.
