2004 2320 has an access panel screwed to the floor in the splash well. Used to access the bildge. The access panel has two round 6" or so access plates on it but they are too small if you need to do any work in the bilge. From factory it was caulked around the perimeter. It's a critical seal because the splash well is frequently. I hate removing it because it involves removing and reapplying caulk. I was thinking maybe there is a better way - a gasket perhaps.

Anyone ever modify it so it's easier to remove?

I would do some measuring and see if a Armstrong 10 X 20 hatch would be able to work there.... Your correct... What is there is a Crap design. You use to have to buy them direct from Armstrong. These a Watertite hatches... They work VERY well. I've installed them on 2 different Cape horns in the engine well area in the past.
