I'd guess sometime somehwere someone used 'steel wool' on the boat hardware and now over time it is rusting. Or, maybe wher you leave it someone else did some metal grinding and your boat caught the dust ...

I for one NEVER use steel wool in a maritime use, I only keep/use bronze wool or 3M Scotchbrite pads.

I started to see the same thing on my 2002 this year. Never used steel wool either. Mostly on the deck sides under the gunnels. I have not tried to remove them with anything but boat soap and bleach to no avail. I even tried to buff out with a compound early in the spring. Next step is to use some type of acid or rust remover when I get time.
Speaking of keeping the deck clean. why does Parker boat decks stain so easily. just walking on it leaves stains that have to be scrubbed out with soft scrub. I love to play with the blue fish but it is a real pain in the a-- with the blood stains. I always have to use soft scrub after every use to clean it up. Other boats I have seen and owned only need water spray and a little boat soap to remove most marks or stains. I have no problem in the cabin just outside deck. I was thinking of cleaning it and applying some type of grout sealer. I know it would be slippery when wet but it would beat all the hard labor I have to put in after every use.
What do you think? .........

I have the same problem with my 2006 non-skid. My friend's 2005 non-skid is so much easier to clean! Mine does not clean up unless I use Barkeeper's Friend, bleach, or Soft Scrub. Its a real pain in the butt.

I need to try Woody Wax or Fluid Film.
