On my Parker '07 21 SE CC, the Coast Guard plate lists a 10 person limit along with some weight limit numbers. I was looking at an '07 Key West 23' CC online today and the Coast Guard plate listed a 7 person limit. Why the difference? Does the Parker have more floatation than the Key West? Key West touts their boats as unsinkable so I thought they might have a higher number particularly given a larger boat vs. my 21' SE. Thanks!

I know within the last number of years that the USCG updated the average weight from 140 to 170 or 180 or so, making resultant changes in the capacity plates, so maybe the KW reflects the lower amount of people , due to them being .. ahhh, heavier.

Or, the Parker displaces more water at the waterline length, than the KW, even though of alleged similar length, so the Parker can in fact carry more load.
