In the market for a used 2520 deep V model (21 deg deadrise at the transom) and I am trying to understand all the different configurations. Reviewed various 2520 models on NADA from 2000 to 2019 and noticed that from 2006 - 2013 there were both 2520 SLD and 2520 XLD models (Deep V models). The 2520 SLD is listed at 4500#'s and the 2520 XLD is listed at 5800#'s. I believe I understand that SLD is a notched transom and the XLD has a bracket for the engine(s)? Other than the weight and engine mount, what are the differences between these two models? Also, why the big weight difference? Are the cabin dimensions different? I read here on a post by MaxOut that in reference to a 2007 model year, the SL cabin is 53"L x 73"W x 76"H and the XL is 59"L x 82"W x 76"H. Is this true for all the SL versus XL models? Seems like maybe the difference in width inside the cabin would be noticeable? Also, I seem to recall reading in some of the posts that there is more free board in the XLD versus older SLD/Sport Cabin Deep V models? Are higher gunnels and larger cabin the reason for the weight difference?

Do the 2000 through 2005 Sport Cabin Deep V models (also 4500#'s) have a cabin with a configurations similar to the SL listed above? Are there any other significant differences?

I have heard that the 2520 SLD rides smoother in chop (better balance/weight distribution for the hull design?). Any opinions or better yet experience with a smoother rider with the SLD?

I also have heard that Parker did away with the notched transom due to safety (boat sinking) concerns. Anyone ever feel they came close to swamping their boat due to water coming in through the notch? I understand the boats are self bailing and I assume it would take a lot of water to swamp? I have talked to owners with the notch who back down on fish and take on a lot of water and generally are not concerned with swamping. I will be using the boat in Southern California and reasonably sized seas are a reality.

I have attached a spreadsheet summary of the different 2520 models from 2000 - 2019 according to NADA. Interesting to see the stock HP change from year to year when the model stayed the same. Assume this was mostly due to evolving engine technology although I am not sure that explains that for the 2520 XLD where the stock engines were:
twin 150's in 2006
twin 200's in 2007 to 2012
twin 150's in 2013
twin 200's in 2014/2015
twin 150's in 2016-2019?

single 350 in 2008 to 2010 (according to NADA this is the first year the 2520 XLD was offered with a single engine)
single 300 in 2011 to 2019

Anyone have different opinion on the various models according to NADA?
