The seacock is to my raw water pump. It has a trainagular flange that seems to be integrated into the body of the valve. The valve stem stripped so I need to replace the seacock. I assume to remove it that I would just unscrew it. On the other side of the hull is a brass strainer, which I assume has a threaded tube that passes through the hull and which threads into the seacock.

Is this correct?[/img]

Yes, that's it. That triangular portion is thread onto the scooped portion coming up from underneath. That bead of white is 5200. I cut out or away as much of the visible 5200 I could then sprayed in some Anti-Bond 2015 which is a chemical that cuts through polysulfide sealants like 3M 5200.

I used TWO huge wrenches 180-degrees apart and she unscrewed fine, at least in my '92 when removed in 2002.
