On the Classic Mako Site - under projects, I see three main issues in older boats (80's - early 90's)
1) fuel tank leaks - Cause water in the foam encasing the tank
2) wood stringers "dry rot" - Cause water intrusion into wood strigers
3) Transom Rot - same as above /plywood transom

Question: I am looking at purchasing a 1990 2300 CC, - Is the fuel tank better protect from water damage or is the fuel tank concen the same in all older boats.
I think the tank replacement is about $6-800 for the tank alone. I have no idea what the cost to remove the Console, cut the floor, remove the foam, replace the new tank, refabricate the foor, reinstall the console might cost. it seams like a lot of expense. Does anybody know what this costs to do it right?

Thanks for your help.
