Fuel Vent Parker Pilot House 2003 Replace?

Hi Guys I need to replace my fuel tank vent that comes out from the side of the boat. The other day a piece of it broke off, must have hit the side of the dock. Is there a easy way to access this vent? It looks like I have to take the seat out on that side to get to the vent? Can I make a access hole?

For your model year, I'm pretty certain the factory installed a Perko black plastic vent that protruded about 1" from the hull side. I did a quick search and looks that particular model been discontinued by Perko. I would recommend changing it to a flush model such as the following from Gemlux:

You'll just have to make a bigger hole - easy job.

I just replaced the same plastic one on my 1800. I had to make hole bigger but super easy job. On my boat I can get right to the hose though. I went with the flush mount style like attached picture shows.

I just replaced mine this past offseason. Threads finally stripped out from taking it on and off every year to soak the screen in vinegar. Plastic threads trying to mate with male metal threads, they don't last very long. If you want to keep this style, I have a couple of extra caps that go on the outside I think, have to check this weekend.

The Stainless piece is installed to point UP.

The P trap goes on the end pointed UP and then points Down.


If you have installed just the Stainless piece and pointed it down......You have created a direct path for water to enter your fuel tank.
