DO I just unscrew the old one , screw in the new one and prime it ?
Is the system under any type of pressure?
I have a 2 stroke carbed 115 hp.

Put container under old one, unscrew it (strap wrenches work awesome!), put old in container (take a look at crap in there), put waterproof synthetic grease on new gasket/O-Ring and re-install firm.

Put end of primer towards OB end UP (arrow points UP) and prime bulb, slow deep pulses to fill the f/w separator. This allows the check valve to work properly and faster.

Dispose of old properly.

A one gallon ziplock bag around the filter works too.
Keeps from dropping it and getting fuel in the bilge.
