i need to have a basic idea of how many drops of hardener i need to add to the gel coat for it set up properly.

i have already filled the holes........i just need to top them off with some gel coat.

i will be using a couple table spoons full of gel coat..............how many drops of hardener??

The ratio is on the hardener container. But typically I believe it to be 12 drops of hardener per ounce of gelcoat. More if temps <60> 80 or 90. I believe the 12:1 was written for 72 degree F days.

That sounds about right. The correct ratio is 11cc per 1/2 gallon. You should mix about 4 oz and that will be 1.375 cc/ml. There are about 20 drops in a cc/ml, so for 4oz of gelcoat you would mix 27 drops of MEKP. This is about 1% which is tuned for 80 degrees or higher. If it is in the 60's use 2.5 cc/ml or 50 drops for 2% MEKP.
