My boat 2520 (1990) was kept in the water each year. It had ablative bottom paint on it.
I bought it and I trailer it so I am looking for a reasonable priced hard bottom paint. Something that the rollers won't destroy or remove when
loading and unloading the boat.

Hi...

Unless you remove the ablative, I don't recommend putting a hard paint over it.

I learned...ablative over hard, but NOT hard over ablative.

Ablative has been removed............Looking for a good,reasonable
hard paint........black..

I agree with Hammerhead. VIVID is a unique duck. In the company's literature, it's described as a hard/ablative.

Regardless of company hype, it does work and is really good for trailered boats and those that are out of the water here and there-- seasonally.

A good number of racing sailboats use it because it takes on a "sheen" and doesn't look dull. Comes in black and bright red, yellow, green and blue. I use it on my Parker (offshore waters) and am happy with it !

Is Vivid paint a permanent paint or is it applied annualy like
most ablatives? Thanks for your input..
