This week, Team ReelTime had the "reel pleasure" of crewing up with one of Viginia's best Flounder Pounder's, Louis Glaser of "Hooked Up". Below are the results of the morning's bite that Louis put us on:

Here are the details: The conditions were ok with a 15 knot SW breeze, 2 to 3 foot chop and variable cloudiness due to the NC smoke. The water temp was in the mid 70's. We left the dock around 7AM and headed for the mouth of the bay near Cape Henry and targeted 45 feet of water.
Louis advised us to run a spread of strip baits with both tidewater fluke rigs and bare kale hooks. To ablige this, we ran a 5 line spread, got baits down and worked a nice drift. The wind was bucking the current but the current had not kicked in in full force yet, so our 12 oz weight somehow kept managed to keep us on the bottom.
Our first drift was very productive and within the first 10 minutes we went had 5 knockdowns, 4 of which were keeper size flounder with the largest at 23 inches. Boy, does Hooked-Up, know his stuff to say it mildly.
Thanks, Louis ! :clapping2: The current went slack shortly after, but the wind proved to keep us on several nice drifts for the hour to come. During this time we had a mix of a few keepers and rays. After the change of the tide the wind settled down and shifted slightly east. At this point the NC smoke gave us a rerprive and we adjusted our spread and drift for the incoming phase of the current.
And the bite kicked back in. We starting boating some nice flounder every couple of passes. I think the peak of the the day was when we had a double knockdown of flounder followed within a minute of a another nice single, all of which were keepers. As afternoon approached, the bite was steady and we caught many throw back flounder in the 18" range. As the tide slowed again, we managed to break the double digit point with 10 very nice keepers, Then we headed for the barn.
Awesome job and thank you, Hooked-Up for putting us on the bite. Louis shared his knowledge with us on about many important facets of flounder fising - technique, conditions and rigs. Louis stays dialed in to the flounder in the lower bay, like no other. And this was evident, as it's hard to argue with results.
All in all, the day was very enjoyable and Carl and I really enjoyed the trip, fellowhsip and time spent on the water with Lious.
