I have the 225 4S on my boat, and a Northstar F210 fuel flow meter. At idle, under say 900Rpm, the fuel guage will spike to about 1.8gph, then trail off down to as low as 0.2gph, then spike back up and repeat this cycle. Over 1000R or so it evens off, at a constant GPH rate. I'm guessing this is due to the fuel pump, at idle and very low overall flow, pressurizing the fuel system then burining off that pressure, at which time it fires the pump again for a moment, and once I'm pulling enough fuel to warrant a constant flow it changes over. Anyone else notice this? The guage is correct overall and I do a lot of idle no-wake running so it seems to be operating well.
