Livewell pump running all night

I have a weird one that I ran into. I washed down my boat the other day. I may have left the live well switch in the on position but definitely turned the battery switch off.

Last week I had to go to airport and noticed the light in the live well was on. It had been raining that night.

Got on boat, battery switch was in off position but baitwell still running. I removed all wires from terminals and left it to go to airport.

My first thought is that the bilge float was energizing entire boat, or the float is connected to live well instead of bilge. Or bad battery switch. Any other suggestions are absolutely welcome.

OR...... Livewell is wired direct to the battery and Not thru the master switch.

That seems weird but maybe. That way you can turn everything off but keep bait alive. Seems weird to me but I'll chase it down.
