I am getting rid of the old electronics (two transducers) and installing one new transducer. This will leave multiple screw holes in transom and a few elsewhere.

Is marine tex suitable to fill screw holes in transom? What is the down side of using Marine Tex on the smaller holes?

I figure one down side would be that they would not be gel coat there???? :?:

Do you recommend another simple solution?

Seems like a lot of folks doing similar repairs so I thought I might get a quick answer .

Thanks Again

Remember that gelcoat is still somewhat permeable to water, so you need to put some marinetex or some other epoxy type material in the hole to seal the core. I have fixed many a transom screw hole on many different boats by mostly filling with marinetex, then rough up the indentation and finish off some Parker gelcoat, sand and buff for an undetectable repair.
