I only used this prop for an hour or so. It was a bit too much prop for me. It's part #48-889620A46, 15-3/8 x 18. I will include both a Yamaha and a Mercury hub kit.

This prop has never touched bottom or hit any floating objects. It has absolutely zero marks on it. It's impossible to tell apart from a brand new prop.

$400 shipped takes it.

Thanks. 8)

the Mirage 15 3/8 x 18 and the Rev 4 17 are the perfect props for the 23 DV hull. the Mirage 18 will give you the better mpg of the two. check out the numbers in the "prop/hull database" thread under the power forum.

some interesting reading here too..... http://classicparker.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=4602

Dom: if you still have the prop after a couple weeks, although i think it might still end up behind your boat, i would be interested in it as a spare and will make you an offer.

I don't know Jim. If someone picks it up in the next few days, I'll let it go for sure. If not, then maybe I'll consider keeping it as a spare. My holeshot was terrible with this prop, and I'd like my WOT RPMs to be a little higher.

I don't know what the huge difference between out boats is besides the Permatrim and bottom paint. Could the Permatrim really make that much of a difference? How can it affect holeshot though?

Also, the replacement Powertech prop is giving me some very decent numbers. Similar to the Mirage Plus, but with a MUCH better holeshot. And the added stern lift is great.

Note: When I ran the Mirage Plus I had a little more fuel than when I ran the Powertech. Maybe another 25-30 gallons extra.

25+ gal is equal to one more large person aboard......so it is probably a statistical dead heat WOT/mph/mpg wise. the other issues are hole shot and rough water handling/performance.

those numbers are very close to mine (no bottom paint) with the exception of 4500 rpm which is where i do most of my cruising.....i get 33 mph 2.6/2.7 mpg...not sure of gph conversion. my WOT is higher too but that means nothing to me.....real world and load (med) it is 45 mph.

yes. the permatrim makes an even bigger difference on a DV hull. i'm on plane at 20 mph with it, and 28 mph without it. sometimes when in larger seas, 28 mph is not possible, but 20 is just right. if the 4 blade is giving you a low planing speed and good fuel economy in big water then she's a keeper. the type of water we boat in is a big factor to consider. if you absolutely need another 100 rpms (any prop) have it labbed (balanced, blades sharpened and polished) for $75. mine is.

look at the numbers from my test in the database. 3700 rpm yielded a comfortable 25 mph on plane. Now look at your 4 blade data at 3500 rpm...no where close to plane......that's all permatrim because we have the same tabs...18w.

FWIW another difference between our boats may be the way they are loaded. I carry no significant extra weight aft of my livewell which is mounted in the center of the cockpit....every thing is forward of that. my ground tackle (anchor/chain) weighs 80 lbs alone.....plus the weight of the windlass.

damn......i was just about to pony-up for that thing. i sold/selling some 1/2 anchor line that was going to pay for it. :?
