Hello,
We are Parkerites with a 23' Pilothouse. I've installed a Mermaid AC
under the passeger's seat, and current project is autopilot (it was "posessed" at the first go).
I used the boat commercially for a couple of years with lobster traps and a footswitch operated line hauler that utilized one of the rod holders.
We had sixteen traps (80lbs each) on one run, and the boat really never ran better than with all that weight.
The cabin/heat isuue is NOT an issue, even without the AC (the AC is nice when you're working inside at dockside) we really appreciate the coolness of the cabin on a blistering day.
There are many Parkers between West Palm and the Keys...many of them Pilothouses.
I'm delighted to have found this site.
Kind Regards,
Terry Burtschin
