Newish owner question

Are we supposed to rotate the rode on our anchors each year? I know I do that with Spectra on my reels, someone suggested it is a good plan on rode.

I don't...My ground tackle is all spliced together and I don't want to fool with it.

However....Something that works well is a larger cooler with water and fabric softener in it. Pull the Rode and soak it.

It will make it real supple.
