Well I’m glad I was fishing on a Parker this last weekend. It snowed most of the day Friday and blew Northeast 40-60 mph on Saturday! My fishing partner backed out on me last minute so I pulled the kids out of school and we plowed our way out to Friday Harbor. Fishing was brutally cold and slow, although we were limited on where we could fish. No big fish to weigh in but we made it home alive!

Is that a fly rod in the downrigger?
pretty much! It is an Islander single action mooching reel and a 10’6” Gloomis rod. Even a 5lb Salmon feels like a 20lber! Once you get used to using them, you will never go back. When you get a big one on, and it decides to take a run on you while you’re reeling, you may get your knuckles whacked, which is why they call them “knuckle busters”
