Raymarine Autopilot Rate Gyro Fault

I have a Raymarine SPX10 with a ST70 controller. When powered up it says Rate Gyro Fault. Pressing the cancel stops the alarm but "fault" stays in the top left corner of the display. Any ideas?

Does it have latest firmware.?

Reset to factory defaults.?...

Raymarine was all over this repair even though my unit was from 2010. They were great to deal with and very upfront with my options. I opted for the repair.

I had pulled the autopilot out completely and rebuilt the helm planning on not using the autopilot. After relatively short money I had the computer repaired and just got the computer back today and will be reinstalling some time soon. Wish I hadn't removed everything and purged the system but will be better off having it than not. :roll:
