Rudee Inlet Striper Season

How long does the Striper season typically last out of Rudee? They just haven't been making them down to the OI area in numbers the last couple of years and was thinking of making the drive north, but probably won't be able to do so until late Feb or sometime in March. I went a couple of years ago in mid-March but didn't have much success.

I have never fished out of Rudee but think that by March many of the fish may have moved in the bays for the spawn. I know last March I caught my first fish, I healthy 45"er, outside of Annapolis. Of course I had to release it as the season here doesnt open until late April.

Talk about things that are unpredictable! The upcoming blast of cold air may drive stripers south, but historically, you may have to go south from Rudee one week, only to have a blitz at Cape Henry the next.
