Does a 300 hp Yamaha on a 2520 need a power assist with hydraulic sea star steering just looking for advice.

I have a 2013 Parker 2520 XLD with 300 HP Yamaha and with the Sea Star steering. I do Not have the power assist. I find the steering to be fine as it is without the power assist as long as I keep the system free of bubbles. I just recently used my Bubble Purge Pro to bleed it and it feels like a whole new system... If curious, I posted three short videos showing the system in place....

I have a Suzuki 300 with Sea Star steering on my 2520 and it is just fine.

A Single Ram system is rated for 600HP.

Suzzy 300 was fine with No Power steering.

With that said....... If I need a new component or steering system.....Seastar is NOT what I buy. To many leaks over the years. Uflex components is what I buy. Yes you can mix them into a Seastar system....upgrading a little at a time.

Such as....On a Repower.....All Seaster system except the Ram on the new engine was upgraded to Uflex.....Then a 2nd station was added.....Uflex Helm.....Then lower helm took a crap.....Uflex upgrade.

Warthog, you are a wealth of information; I'm happy to see you still contributing even after selling your boat.... My SeaStar must have leaked somewhere because I had air bubbles to purge. It was the first time the system was purged in 7 years. I have a second control station in the cockpit and there may have been a very small leak at the hydraulic hose fittings there; there was a very slight film on one of the fittings. I slightly tightened it, maybe a 16th of a turn. Other than that I couldn't find any sign of hydraulic fluid leaks.
