Getting my brain around wiring my second station before I do it.

If using momentary switches: Do you leave the pilot house key on for the whole trip? Probably no draw but is it good for the outboard? ( Yamaha )

It's more costly: Thought about using another key switch and taping into the pilot house key switch so that either station could be used with a key as usual.

I read most of you guys using the momentary switches but I like the idea of the key in the off position.
Any thoughts? thank you

I would also like to know how to wire my second station. I have a 1996 2520 with a factory installed second station. The station only has steering and dual lever throttle/transmission controls but no ignition controls. I have a 1996 Mercury outboard if that matters.

We do a lot of drift fishing and running back and forth to the cabin in order to start and stop the motor is getting to be a bit of a pain. :(

A schematic would be very helpful. Yes, I can read a schematic! :)
