Just finished over the weekend. We have to navigate the canals in order to get offshore. Wanted something removable to extend life of light. We are very happy with outcome.

Underside mount is an option especially if this obstructs view. I wanted to try topside first just for peace of mind and ease since I'll only be using it for 1 hr a trip and then stow away. Good call though

Why not the roof? I didn't even like a burgee on the bow rail in the line of sight..

Most folks who have roof mounted complained of reflection off of the bow rail which is quite distracting.
Getting the light out ahead of the rail eliminates that problem.

Exactly my thought

Nice. Ditto on roof mount. Unless you buy a good light with narrow beam, glare is an issue.

Have to be creative to cut glare with roof mount.
