Has anyone tried these? They are new, only $65 at West Marine...would like to get some feedback before I try them. They have 30 led's in each light.

They look like good lights.

How are you going to mount them (under the gun whale, under cabin roof, etc.)?

I guess I'm not talking about the Luma, it's actually the Taco spreaders...here:

I want to replace my two deck lights on my rocket launchers...concern is these lights are not bright enough.

Brian,

I’m currently thinking of doing the same thing with the LED’s. I should have my new radar mast finished soon and I want to put the new lights on it. Right now, I’m leaning toward these lights that have pretty good reviews on The Hull Truth.

They cost a little more (85 or 165 for the pair), but they seem to have the reviews I’m looking for. They draw a half an amp. I haven’t pulled the trigger yet. I’d really like to talk with someone that has them first. Will see, but I’m going to do something soon.

Looking at those too, now leaning towards them...let me know if you pull the trigger! What's up with the So Cal rendevouz this year?

I ordered a pairfrom Coastal Night Lights, I will let you know how they work once I get them installed.

You don't waste any time do you?

I did get an email back from Chris at Coastalnightlights and his only concern with my application was how high my lights are mounted. He said they would work better 7 or 8 feet off the deck and mine are more like 9 or 10. That should be great for you. He thinks I may need to use 4 lights for my boat. I'm not sure I want to use 4 but maybe you will have a little input to help me out.

You're right we should think about another So Cal rendevouz, that was fun.

Have one had the time to wire the new lights.Im looking at the same lights. Not sure what way to go taco or coastal night light

I put the Coastal spreader lights on my 2520 last Spring and they work great, but there is a problem. I have a 2520 MVSC and the spreaders are mounted on the aft top of the pilot house. The mounts for the spreaders on the Coastals are plastic and can break very easily if someone hits one while heading to the bow.
One of my winter projects is to fabricate a new housing and metal mount for them so they don't break and end up hanging by the wires.
