Let's talk a little about the Tilted Element X-ducers and planing for the future.

As you look this stuff up and decide which unit and what degree deadrise you have and need to order.

Something you will not find...... It's called "Mix & Match".

The cost is very close to, if not the same as a non "Mix & Match".

But here is the senero : You have a boat with say Raymarine FF on it and you want to upgrade the X-ducer and get rid of the transom mount.

While your at it you want to get the full capabilities of the 1000 watt power. The transom mount is a 600watt.

Now you measure the deadrise and it's a deep V. So you order a B-164-20 Mix & Match for Raymarine.

Here is what you will get: A Bronze Airmar B-164-20 and it will have a cord on it that is 5ft long. You will also get another cord with ends on it that is aprox 25ft long.

Here is how it works. Install the X-ducer as we would any Tilted Element. One end of the 25ft cord plugs into the 5ft cord on the X-ducer and the other end is designed to mate with the Raymarine.

Ok you get this all done and next year you decide you want some "Real" electronic's. [Did I mention I hate Raymarine?]

So you order a Furuno 587.. But now this cord on the X-ducer will not plug into the Furuno.

No problem , because you bought the "Mix & Match". All you need to do is order the new 25ft cord that plugs into the B-164 and then into the Furuno. No having to beat that $700 X-ducer out of the hull and maybe ruin it and then spend another $700 to hook to the Furuno.

These cords are aprox $80.

You can get Mix & Match for all brands of electronics. Talk to Jim @ BOE for further info.
