Trim Switch Problem

I have a 2000 Yamaha 200 Saltwater Series II with the Yamaha 704 Remote control Box. The Power Trim switch started giving me trouble intermittently when trying to put the trim in the up position. The switch on the engine itself gives me no problem and works just fine both up and down.

Any pointers?

if that does not work changing it is no biggie.

Take the control apart at the handle and clean the corrosion off the spring metal contact

Ditto , Break-Free CLP works awesome to clean it with! And slather in dielectric grease prior to re-assembly.

I went back and looked at it again, cleaned it up and I noticed a crack in the switch element. This piece has a rubber covering that peels back to allow access.

As I mentioned it is the switch side piece, not the side with the cable assemble attached.....

Does anyone know how or where to find part numbers online?
