Two motors for the Merc (B)-Faithful

Check out these two motors on display this weekend at the Bay Bridge Boat Show.
The first is a 300 hp Optimax XS 3.2l stroker ($18k), and the other is a 300 hp Verado (no price listed).

Is the gearcase on that 300hp Verado that small :?: .. or is it just that the rest of the motor is so darn HUGE :shock: !?!?

I think the motor is huge! it is an in-line 6 not a v6 so it stands tall. I would love to have that 300 verado but I am sure it is $$$$. I hear great things about the new xs optis but I am not sure I want a racing motor for what I do. For now I will stick with my loud but powerful and fuel efficient DTS opti. 8)

What other # could be used, with a Merc racing motor, can you say "Intimidator"?

BTW, Ranger used to make an Earnhardt "Intimidator" bass boat signed by Earnhardt, and most of us know about the 50' or so sportfisherman known as "Sunday Money".

Richard Childress has a section at the IGFA HQ in Dania Fla. He and Dale reconized as world class fishermen and conservationists.

Funny you say that Dana. I am wearing a Valvoline hat with a number 6 on the side. Too bad he didnt switch to chevy long ago. How many Winston i mean nextel cup titles would he have.

I have the Richmond race on TV right now waiting for the start.

I have a good Valvoline hat and various shirts and hats from Viagra days.

Even though he is only going to run this year I"m going to buy US Army. I passed on AAA stuff last year, figuring I didn't want something from one year and didn't care about AAA stuff. I kept wearing Viagra!!!

He's 16th in the standing before the race after skipping three races. Frustrating setup since he still can drive.

We'll see late tonight since there is a rain delay.

I am pulling for number 8 tonight as he is my 1 list driver tonight on yahoo.

01 Army rolled off ninth tonight and race was postponed a few minutes ago until 1 PM Sunday.

Anything but 24 for awhile before people overreact and screw up the racing by taking away cans, and everything else that has been thrown.
