Windlass???

I have a 1000 Pro on my current boat (27' cat) I used #8 red/black marine grade from windlass to switch 20' total (2x10') from breaker to battery #4 red/black (25' 2x12.5) I used crimp connectors (bought a hyd crimper) I totally agree with Warthog calculate wire size do it right the first time. The 2320 I had was a 700 dealer installed I had/have 8plait for rode I look at it from a long term investment buy the best up front and don't look. I am not suggesting Lewmar is the only one just install what ever you buy with quality pcs/parts and buy a free fall you won't regret it. I will add bigger is not always better I wish I would have installed a 700 5/16 chain is heavy and my anchor had to be weighted looking a Rocan any comments.

Has anyone measured the draw or amperage when it is in use using a clamp on meter?
