    Seaspension Reviews

I purchased one of the seaspension posts during the deal that was posted. Both myself and my brother are BIG Guys. Think College Football Linemen. I was a little apprehensive about both of us being at the top end (or a little over) of the operating rating of the post. I talked to seaspension...

    Battery charger / Solar Controller

Does anybody make an onboard battery charger that can also be used as a solar panel charge controller? I am basically looking for a charger that will take either a 120 volt or solar input to charge the batteries.

    Parker hull/prop database

GrouperJim, When you say you run your boat heavy can you give me an idea of what heavy is to you? I have the same boat/motor combination that you have and am getting ready to reprop my motor. Looking to reach prop nirvana and am considering the 18 or 19 pitch prop. Pressurerelief

gps shuts off couple other problems

Warthog, Can you do a definitive post on battery wiring, house vs starter, switching etc? Maybe Dale or Kevin could put it under projects as a sticky. This seems to come up a bit.

Newbie here - considering boat upgrade, would like opinions

We just put a kitchen trash bag in the head as a liner with a little bit of oil dry. At the end of the trip the biggest contributor pulls the bag, throws it away and puts in a new bag with absorbent. Started doing this while working on a boat for an environmental company years ago.

What, you didn't bring any sandwiches? St Pete 4/9

Watermark your pictures if it gets that bad. I have some pictures with my watermark that have made it all over the internet. Creative attempts have been made to edit around the mark but it runs diagonal through the meat of the pic. I was attending a class and the instructor was talking...

Dual Battery Setup Question with twins

Dual Battery Setup Question with twins

Warthog, I should have been more clear on this. My friend would switch a battery switch under load from one battery to another passing through the "OFF" position and not the "BOTH" position. He always turned the switch clockwise no matter what he was doing. He has had electrical gremlin...

Dual Battery Setup Question with twins

Warthog, I do not believe alot of people here know what you mean when you say "spike your electronics". I just had a conversation with a friend about not turning the main battery switch from position to position while the engine is running, diodes, alternators, electronics, $$, and such and...

    Trailer Guide Ons

Take a look at these if interested. http://www.pacifictrailers.com/Guide-On ... ad-Guides/ A friend has them and even has a ladder up one side to access the boat without the gymnastics. As Warthog said though, makes it tough to wash and wax that area.

    Replace battery or not?

My point of view comes from growing up in a family business that worked on fire apparatus electrical systems. As Warthog said a load tester is great and the other thing I use is a calendar. I own a very nice system to charge, maintain , and test batteries but have learned that after a while...

    Prop Guy in Baltimore

I have searched and can not find the answer I am looking for. I seem to remember a post about a guy in Baltimore or vicinity that would do prop changes like Prop God does in Florida? Looking for that almighty perfect prop. Can anyone lead me to him or remember this post? Getting ready for...

    POWER for 25 Sport Cabin

I read a paper by a naval archictect referencing speed/length ratio, displacement/length ratio, above water/below water area, and prismatic coefficient. Basically what I took from the article in reference to your question is that after a certain point, a gain in horsepower will have negligible...

    POWER for 25 Sport Cabin

I keep seeing everyone talking redundancy with twin motors. It is not truly redundant unless you have seperate fuel tanks and they should be filled at different locations. This is how I use to do it at work after getting stung with bad fuel.

    Holy Snow Storm

One thing I do not understand about snow removal. The weather channel shows people in say Buffalo shoveling 3 foot of snow. Have they never heard of a plow or snow blower? I live in Western Maryland and have about a 100 yard + driveway on the side of a hill. I have a 55 HP New Holland...

    Holy Snow Storm

That amount of snow sucks after a while. Three years ago we got what you just did but twice in 6 days. We had about 67" in less than a week. I would spend 12 -14 hours a day on the tractor for over a week. Never new I had so many friends.

    Holy Snow Storm

Miky2884, how much snow did you get? Tmacier - sounds like you will have more to spend if she is working OT! I am thinking about buying snowblowers and shovels and taking a ride north if they got enough snow, might make enought to pay for some Parker modifications!
